We’re excited to share a big milestone for Hokubei Budogu.
We have officially partnered with Philippines Bogu Inc, a bogu factory trusted by many well-known brands in Japan, and also used by many All Japan Championship players, for their premium craftsmanship and consistent quality.
This partnership wasn’t just about finding a factory — it was about finding the right people.
One of the biggest reasons we chose Philippines Bogu Inc is its owner, Yuta Esaki sensei. His deep kendo knowledge, years of experience, and genuine passion for the art are reflected directly in the bogu he produces. Every stitch, material choice, and design decision is made with an understanding of what kendoka truly need on the dojo floor and in competition.
After many conversations and careful consideration, we felt confident placing our trust in Esaki sensei and his team. That trust has led us to collaborate on the production of our Shiro Bogu series, designed specifically for the North American kendo community — balancing durability, comfort, and performance without compromising on traditional values.
We’re proud of this partnership and excited for what it means moving forward. This is just the beginning, and we look forward to delivering bogu that reflects our shared commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and the growth of kendo.
