As a woman, I've heard that it can be difficult to find fits that are both protective and comfortable, since a lot of standard sizing is often oriented towards men. But Back-sensei took the time to carefully take and review my measurements (I was lucky enough to be measured in person :D), answer all of my questions, and make great recommendations to better customize the set and ensure that I would be happy with my purchase.

When my bogu arrived, it was very clear to me that a lot of thought and care had been put into the craftsmanship and detail. Everything fits very comfortably and securely, and was very quick to adjust to my body. The built-in extra protection on the right kote has saved me from bruises numerous times, and the entire set is incredibly light and easy to wear. As a beginner kendoka, I was really worried that wearing bogu in general would feel overwhelming or restrictive, but this bogu set honestly feels very natural and has kept me very safe during practice. I've been wearing this set for about a year now, and am just as happy with it as when it first arrived.

I'm very thankful for the time, expertise, and care that went into the craftsmanship of this bogu, and I'm especially grateful to Back-Sensei for helping make getting my first bogu set so easy and enjoyable. I wear this jacket for my daily suburi practice.
Even on freezing winter days, it keeps me warm and very comfortable.
Wearing it reminds me of training suburi in the cold and motivates me to keep practicing every day.

I initially thought that this was going to be just another jacket to add to my already vast collection of jackets and hoodies. However, the comfort and fit of this particular jacket is different. Fits well enough to be stylish in, but moves in a way to be able to keep on for warm ups and Suburi during the cold winter. We all have those warm up tops that pull and tug when trying to do Suburi. I have the royal blue one which is vibrant and pops without being overly flashy. As tournament season approaches, I am going to be wearing this often.

Nicest synthetic hakama and gi I’ve ever owned. I bought this set as a lightweight “daily beater” uniform since it’s easy care and dry but honestly I used it for formal events and grading because it just looks perfect every time.

Nice light hoodie. Fits true to size, great range of movement and looks sharp, even after repeated washes.

Stunning looks, construction, light weight and good protection. I just received my set last week and it’s been a game changer. Paired with my CF Do it’s lightness to the point of it feeling like you’re almost naked lol. My advice to those who’s considering a jissen set: purchase a men protector pad. I’ve tried it with and without a pad and I personally feel more confident with an extra pad. If you go this route as Yong sensei to help you size it appropriately to accommodate it. The cross stitching looks premium and very cool, esp paired with the all black menbuchi paint and grey kote palms. Sick sick sick.

The quality of the product is extremely high and it contributes to better performance in matches. Because it is specifically designed for competition use, it is very lightweight, and the design is excellent. I have been active as a kendo player for many years, and based on that experience, I can say that this Bogu is truly outstanding.

Not only is the product itself excellent, but the overall service, including logistics, is also outstanding. In this case, needed to purchase and receive the bogu urgently, yet it was delivered within five days of completing payment. In addition, the provision of documents such as the D/O by the staff was quick and smooth. The entire process was completely stress-free.
